There's no hard rule about how long your book should be, but there are industry standards to aim for. Chapter length is up to the author.

1000 - 8000 Short story

10,000 - 18,000 Novelette

20,000 - 50,000 Novella

50,000+ Novel

Traditionally published novels usually run in the range of 80,000 - 100,000.
